Description
Rovagnati Sliced Mortadella Classic is the pre-sliced retail format of the Gran Mortadella, one of the oldest products in Italian charcuterie, produced by a family company with roots in Milan dating to the 1940s. Mortadella traces its origins to Bologna in the Emilia-Romagna region, where the tradition of slow-cooking large pork sausages dates back centuries. Gran Mortadella is made from a deliberate selection of pork cuts, using the shoulder for the leaner portions and the throat for the fat, producing the characteristic bright pink interior flecked with pearly white fat cubes visible across each large, thin slice. The mortadella is cooked in traditional brick ovens over several hours, a method that preserves the integrity of both the meat and the fat. Seasoned with nutmeg, black pepper, and coriander. Produced in Italy, sliced in the United States.
